I am conscious that some IFAs think there is a conflict of interest between themselves and claims managers. That is not actually so and the two can work very well together in my experience. This is how it works for me and my IFA partners: when an IFA acquires a new client, he/she naturally looks at how they can help that client achieve their goals in the future. That is a big enough job on its own, so they tend not to concentrate too much on the quality of advice given in the past, other than to just document where the client currently stands. This is where I can help you. I will look at advice given in the past and, if it is poor, I can help your client obtain redress. That is good for your client and for you as their adviser as it enables you to give a complete “360 degree” review service. IFAs I have helped in this way have been delighted to find their client has additional funds to invest, plus their client is very grateful to them for providing this additional no upfront cost service.
